Sydney Frequency Plan for older model Audio Users

E-mail Print PDF
NB: This information applies only for clients who have had their 2020 systems reprogrammed to avoid Digital television in the Sydney area.

All 2020 systems are programmed with four groups of eight frequencies, viz.

 F1 channels 1-8 & 9-16 and F2 channels 1-8 & 9-16

Your Sydney frequency plan is as below:

     F1                F2

 1      554.050     555.050

 2      554.500     555.500

 3      555.600     556.600

 4      555.900     556.900

 5      558.300     559.300

 6      559.100     560.100

 7      560.350     561.350

 8      561.300     562.300

 9      554.550     555.550

10     555.000     556.000

11     556.100     557.100

12     556.400     557.400

13     558.800     559.800

14     559.600     560.600

15     560.850     561.850

16     561.800     562.800

NB:  Frequencies highlighted in red are NOT recommended for Sydney or Adelaide

Why include frequencies which are unsuitable for Sydney?

Simple; we assume that you will not always be working in Sydney.  If we put all the frequencies within TV channel 32, what would happen if you were in an area where channel 32 was in use?  You would have no options.  We deliberately mix in frequencies from channel 33 so that you have alternative frequencies for those occasions when you are away from the Sydney Basin.

If you are using MORE than two systems, try to keep them all within one group.  Avoid mixing groups as you may suffer inter-modulation problems.  Keep all units on F1 or F2 (this applies to all 2020 systems, not just this frequency plan).

In New South Wales, frequencies between 554-561 MHz are generally safe in most locations and the following combinations should be OK

    F1                F2

 2      555.900     555.500

 4      558.300     556.900

 5      559.100     559.300

 6      560.850     560.100

Interference may be experienced close to Boudi (Central Coast) or Broker’s Nose (Illawarra) from low-powered analogue translators.  For these, Darwin, or any other locations you experience range reduction, try the RED frequencies, eg.

     F1                F2

 7      560.350     561.350

 8      561.300     562.300

15     560.850     561.850

16     561.800     562.800

While the 554-561 MHz region poses few problems in most locations now, it may in the future.  Don’t bother to change frequencies unless you are experiencing problems.  This is a contingency plan.
